Today I had the privilege of being invited by friend Nicole Gilbert to attend the Wonder Women Project 1st Birthday - Nicole has been a friend of mine for a while, she has always been someone who inspires me purely for being herself and knowing who she is in the world! Nicole was invited to be one of the guest speakers at the wonder women project where she shared her story.
All successful women whom I have come to know over my life have never started out out having life easy and have had to overcome some adversity in one way or another to become Strong successful powerhouse women that you see today. Nicole's story is one which inspires and touches peoples lives. She is a success in her own right , having worked hard to achieve everything before her.
Success does not come by having a dream and doing nothing about it. Success is like an iceburg, some people only see you at the top, but what lies deep beneath that success is is having a dream, taking risks, facing criticism, doubts, late nights working hard, experiencing failures, making sacrifices, experiencing rejection, having competition, feeling disappointment, having persistence and determination, discipline, and facing adversity. People who are successful they do not let these challenges hold them back or keep them below the ocean surface, the rise above, they prove themselves by showing everyone what they can do , they manifest it by putting it out into the universe and overcoming downfalls. Successful people take their challenges and look at things from different perspective to adapt and change to reach their goal. Success isn't always about the final outcome, it is about the journey along the way, growing as you have wins and realising your own potential.
About Nicole, Her Business Venture and Wise Words shared:
Nicole (aka the Hennatician) is the owner of a cosmetic company , which created Henna Brow. Henna Brow is a professional Salon Range of Henna Eyebrow tint supplying solely to Beauty Professionals across the world.
Nicole is a wife and a mother to 4 boys, on top of running a household and being the nurturer that she is, she has followed her passion and her dream and created her own company.
A country girl at heart , Nicole comes from a small gold mining town in Western Australia called Kalgoorlie. Leaving school at 15 Nicole decided to follow her dream saved up money, working at Mcdonalds earning only $5.50 an hour and did a beauty course in Perth Western Australia. After her 6 month course, they saw Nicole's potential and offered to pay for her Diploma Course and a gave her a Job . She knew determination, passion and a will to learn could get you places if you put it out there. Nicole then went on to work at one of the top 10 salons in Australia , catering for celebrity clientele.
Nicole went through a rough patch where she learned a lot about life and had to overcome some very MASSIVE challenges. These are quite personal for Nicole so I wont elaborate about them on here. What Nicole went through no mother should have to experience and I commend her for her strength and ability to share with those close to her her personal triumphs. She really is an amazing woman.
A mother of 4 boys Nicole works hard, as does her husband, who owns his own restaurant and works 7 days a week and often till late at night to help support the family. Nicole had ambition, and drive, she wanted to not put her education/qualification to waste. So she asked her husband to bring some Henna back from Egypt with him and she worked hard to create the right formula to market and sell to salons.
Nicole had self doubts , here was an ambitious Australian woman, who wears a scarf with 4 children, who thought here I am just a mother up against peoples perception and competing with well manicured woman in the beauty industry. She overcame this, realising she had nothing to lose she pushed through, She started her business with essentially nothing. She knew with her passion and her will power she could do it. She states showing up is everything, just do it.
Nicole began by running a beauty salon in her home at night after she put her 4 children to bed, and all the money she made from waxing and other beauty treatments she put away towards creating her business. Nicole would go to garage sales and buy items for cheap and flip them, and all the money she put towards buying her first 500 bottles, labels and graphic design. She did all her own photos, created her own website and so her business venture began. She did what she could with what she had. Nicole has only ever run 1 advertisement for her company and the rest she has manifested by word of mouth. Her positive energy draws people and connections to her to aid in her business success. Nicole is Authentic, she has organic conversations and she shows the world who she is and maximises her opportunities.
Nicole says " You see that big rollercoaster, it looks so scary and it looks OMG, throw up! I could never do that, stop thinking about it get on the bloody roller coaster and and do it because when you get off, you're thinking okay where is the next biggest rollercoaster, face that fear and do it." - Quote Nicole Gilbert
Someone once told me fear has two meanings, its the way you approach it which determines your outcome.

Nicole captivated the room by her story and triumph. Nicole explains to us why she chose Henna, and beauty and eyebrows and it is because she believes
" Eyebrows are not just a vain beauty statement they are part of our body language, they part of how we present ourselves to other people. Now the trend is thicker more natural bolder brows having come into fashion, we are noticing more bolder women , we are becoming boss babes, we are coming through as single mothers, as survivors, thrivers, it comes through in the way we present ourselves, its an expression of ones self. " Nicole says. - Quote Nicole Gilbert.
